A gathering song for Advent and the end of the church’s year.
The refrain is taken from Luke chapter 21. The verses are from Isaiah chapter 40 using an adaption of the well-known words of Johann Olearius and Catherine Winkworth.
The refrain can be sung repeatedly by itself. The verses may be sung between renditions of the refrain or sung on top of the refrain by a soloist, creating an ostinato in the style of Taize.
